Site Visit Summary

For my final site evaluation, I submitted two H&Ps and decided to present the one I posted here about my patient who was here for medication refills but also for residual upper extremity numbness and paresthesias after a TIA mid-last year. I thought this was an interesting case since she had been previously seen by a neurologist and it seemed that the neurologist found that she no longer needed to follow up with them. I also presented my pharmacology cards (losartan, metformin, semaglutide, omeprazole, allopurinol) and my journal article posted here that compared the efficacy of metformin to lifestyle interventions in prediabetic patients. The article choice was inspired by a patient who was here to follow up on lab results after a wellness visit and was told that he was prediabetic and that he needed to make lifestyle changes. I received overall great feedback on my H&P and even though it was not fully applicable to this rotation, I tried to incorporate into it feedback received on my last H&P about not restating the HPI in my Assessment.
